Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss enters Early Access and is now free to play on Meta Quest 2 via App Lab.
Developer Polyarc is showing gameplay from the new multiplayer game “Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss” for the first time. The VR game is now available as an Early Access version for Meta Quest 2 via the Meta App Lab and can be downloaded for free. A later release on Steam for other VR headsets is also planned.
Moss spin-off: What to expect
In Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss, you build a team from a selection of well-known characters from the world of Moss and Moss 2. You then send them into one-on-one duels against other players on a virtual game board. Your goal is to destroy your opponent’s base.
Each champion has unique abilities that must be considered when building your team. You won’t know how your opponent’s team is set up until the game begins.
Glassbreakers Showcase demonstrates gameplay
“When you play Glassbreakers, there’s an added level of strategic gameplay that needs to be considered as you can see in real-time where your opponent is looking, what Champions they’re grabbing, and where they are moving them. It really brings real-time gaming to another level”, said Chris Bourassa, design director at Polyarc.
During the Glassbreakers showcase (see video above), the developers demonstrated the gameplay and the different play styles possible with the champions’ abilities.
Polyarc plans expansions
The studio has already announced that it will continue to actively develop and improve Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss during its early access period. Regular updates will include new champions and features.
During the first week of early access, a special bonus XP event will be offered, rewarding players with tokens they can use to further customize their team. Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss is now available for Meta Quest 2 in the App Lab.
